ABOUT THE ARTIST

Young children are often asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Lisa's answer was always an artist. She started acrylic painting lessons when she was 11 years old. In high school, along with drawing and painting, she was introduced to sculpture, stained glass, print making and pottery. It was there that her art teachers encouraged her to choose an artistic career path.

Lisa graduated from the Advertising Art program at Fanshawe College which incorporated graphic art, fine art and photography. She worked in the print media promotions and magazine divisions at The Fairway Group in Kitchener, Tri-Media Marketing in Welland and Burtnik Printing in St. Catharines. Lisa started a country folk art business called Cranberry Stew Crafts and later, along with her husband, they ran Watertown Paper Company which produced hand-made paper.

A few years ago she decided to bring it back to focus on acrylic painting.

Lisa has exhibited and sold her work through the London Community Artists, Art in the Park, For the Love of Art, Framing and Art Centre and Westland Gallery. You can also see her drawings on the deli chalkboard at Remark Market. Follow Lisa on Facebook.
